Yin & Yang
“A certain darkness is needed to see the stars.”
We are a study in contrasts.
We complement each other in every way, and it’s clear to everyone around us. Complete opposites, yet somehow fitting together perfectly.
Jogger pants are your armor, your fortress of comfort, while I live for the wind against my legs in a skirt. Big shirts are your security blanket, while I crave the freedom of tiny crop tops. Sneakers are where we meet, but the heels are my territory. My hair reflects my moods, ever-changing with the seasons, while yours is a bold statement, a constant beacon. I might build walls, but you have a way of breaking through them. You’re the one who cries with me, even when I try to hide my tears. You’re the one with a heart of gold, the one who tears up when I try to be strong.
Our differences are like puzzle pieces, perfectly interlocking to create a beautiful whole.
We may seem like opposites on the surface, but beneath it all lies a deep understanding.
Thinking of you is like coming home, a feeling of warmth and belonging that washes over me. You’re the constant in my ever-changing world, the one person I can always count on.
You’re not just my best friend; you’re my solace, my sanctuary, my safe harbor, the place where my walls crumble and I can truly be myself. The first name that bursts from my lips when anyone asks who means the most to me.
We laugh until our sides ache, a laughter so deep it brings tears to our eyes. Even in the midst of sadness, we find humor, a shared language that only we understand. But what makes you truly special is your uncanny ability to see right through me. You notice the flicker of an eye, the barely-there hitch in my breath. It's a superpower none of my other friends possess. You even find amusement in my eye rolls, those playful expressions of exasperation that are a silent language between us.
Thank you for being my escape, for whisking me away from the chaos. With you, I feel seen for who I truly am, flaws and all. You make me feel loved, valued, and worthy beyond measure.
You believe in me, even when I doubt myself.
